Meet the Team

Jennifer is originally from eastern Kentucky and is a University of Kentucky alum.  Prior to coming on board at Westside, she was a partner and litigation attorney at Cleary, West & Hawkins, LLP in Augusta.  In March 2018, when her husband, Dr. Hawkins purchased Westside Animal Hospital, they decided to align her talents with his and work together to revitalize Westside.  

Shawna joined the Westside family in 2023. She is originally from North Carolina.  It was there that she worked as a conservation and science educator at a zoological park and her interest in animal health and wellness was sparked. She later transitioned to veterinary medicine.  In her spare time, Shawna enjoys reading, exercising her green thumb with plants, and crystals.  She and her husband share their lives with their rescued dogs Petey and Bentley, and cats Scout and Arwyn.

Monika has been a valued part of the Westside team for over 18 years!  Monika worked as a long-time veterinary assistant before stepping away from veterinary medicine for a brief time, and has now returned and transitioned to the role of receptionist.  Clients could not be happier to have her as one of the warm and friendly faces welcoming them to our clinic!  Outside of veterinary medicine, one of Monika’s greatest passions is cooking and entertaining friends and family.  And not just her native German cuisine!  She also enjoys Jeep adventures and getting lost in a good book.  She has two beloved pets - Gus, a lab mix and Booger, an orange tabby.  

Suzanne joined the Westside family in 2016.  She is originally from Down Under, Perth, Australia which is where she obtained her Veterinary Technician certification.  She enjoys traveling (esp. beach trips), hiking with her dogs, introducing unsuspecting friends to Vegemite, comedy and is an avid rock concertgoer.  She shares her life with her Kelpie Drover, Jack Russell terrier Digger (who has more than earned his name!), and polydactyl cat, Hamish.

Originally from Brisbane, Australia, Erin spent much of her childhood in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she developed a love for the outdoors—hiking desert trails and snowboarding in the nearby mountains. Now, she and her spirited three-legged Westie/Schnauzer/Chihuahua mix, Lola, call the CSRA home.  Outside of work, Erin enjoys drawing, painting, playing volleyball, and searching for the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants. She is also proficient in calligraphy, a craft that reflects the same precision and attention to detail she brings to veterinary medicine, a field in which she has worked for the past ten years.

Lillie, a Certified Veterinary Assistant, is the newest member of the Westside team and brings more than five years of experience in veterinary medicine. As the youngest of six in a family devoted to rescuing animals, she grew up in a lively household where caring for animals was simply a way of life. That lifelong love of animals led her to a career in veterinary care.  Lillie is passionate about animal health and is known for her calm, capable approach—even in the most critical situations. Outside the clinic, she enjoys the quiet of country life, spending her free time horseback riding, four-wheeling, and relaxing with her Great Dane, Boo.
